PurssEE, a Mahomedan boatman, aged 35, was admitted into the Medical College Hospital on tlie 29th of November, 1866, at 2-45 p.m. Ho had taken with his pawn, about half an hour before, a small portion of aconite root, mistaking it for " coord," a dried root used by the natives to relieve muscular pain. Immediately after chewing it, he felt a sweetish taste, which was soon followed by tingling of the lips and tongue, numbness of the face, and severe vomiting.
